Neurochemical: The Flirting Stage

BinkNyc

For some a career is a wonderful outlet for psychosis. This is true for healers in particular.

Psychosis is a generic psychiatric term and usually refers to a loss of contact with reality and usually manifests itself in delusions or hallucinations.

I do a strange thing called: Advertising and branding on steroids and crack. A client of ours said this about our work. We stole it from him. It is an excellent compliment especially coming from a man who has been in marketing for 30 years.

Neurochemical is a psychosis, an addiction and we may need a hit. Won’t you be our next big hit? 😛

Michael’s Dilemma
• I was having drinks with some old neighborhood musician friends. One was telling me how he wanted to have sex with his gorgeous female lead singer. They’d been in the same band for over a year.

He was going on and on about it for 5 minutes.

“Michael!” I said, trying to snap him out of it. “Do you know what her birthday is?”

“No, no, no…,” he said, waving his hand to shoo me away, interrupting his stream of consciousness.

“Wait! Do you know what her favorite band is?”

“No, no…,” he said wanting to continue but, now he was interrupted and staring at me.

“Do you even know what her favorite color is?”

At this, everyone was entrenched in laughter. He, too, was laughing so hard that he had to leave to go to the bathroom. Something had now occurred to him.

We were still cackling when he returned from the bathroom and I asked: “What happened?”

He said to us all, “Breuk is helping me. I see that now.
The next time I see her, I’ll say: ‘When is your birthday? (pause) Who is your favorite band? (pause) What is your favorite color?
OMG, I think I’m in Love with you.”

Now we were all buckled over in an uncontrollable fit.

BinkNyc

Just yesterday I was speaking to a fellow researcher (a doctor in Neurochemistry from Dartmouth) about today’s business environment.

“The problem,” I said, “… is that business owners forgot how to flirt. Everyone is so desperate and hungry to get that next big deal. There’s hardly any time to get to know the person.” A deeper sense of knowing and trusting another person is never really established.

The first time we meet people, being curious and creating curiosity installs a subconscious trust. This subconscious trust creates an emotional anchor. Once the subonscious and emotions are settled within ourselves, we are now open to doing successful business with each other.

If someone you just met or hardly knew walked up to you and said: “I Love You”, how would you feel?

Your mind many go into overdrive, relatively quickly, in a Neurochemical response.

It is a very rare quality today where people aren’t looking at you trying to size you up and seeing how you can be of value in their lives.

Questions like: “What’s your birthday? What’s your favorite color? What’s your favorite band?,” are a beautiful way to develop any long lasting, long standing business or personal relationship. Without it, you run the risk of things easily going wrong in mistrusting or trying to prove yourself in any interaction.

Have a great day!

Neurochemical: The Process (I Scream…)

[ Case Study ]

BinkNyc.com

So a dear friend (Ken Varga) introduced me to a woman who recently opened a little ice cream place in Astoria, Queens. Her name is Jane. She is sweet.

She’s not actually terribly sweet but she can be sweet. Well, maybe she’s not that sweet. Maybe she’s sweet like a lemon. Yes, sweet like lemonade on a hot summer day with a handful of sugar.

123456

Like many new business owners who are setting sail, taking the plunge, to pursue their dream, she was afraid. Fearful, afraid and as many new start-ups and near broke (start-up costs, rent, electric, refrigeration, etc…) by the time she was ready to open shop.

What can be done?

The answer is: “many things”.

Should she start with business cards and a website?

Many might answer that question with a resounding, Yes! My answer is no, not yet. A good website and business cards are among the necessary things on the “to do” list but in using a Neurochemical approach, she has to have:

  1. her target audience clearly identified.
  2. understand their values and attitude.

These points are far more important and using our building metaphor, you do the basement of a house first before you figure out where the walls, windows and doors go. No one starts building from the roof and works their way down later digging into the earth. Likewise, no one buys furniture first and worries about building the house afterwards.

As far as ice cream goes, she’s a little on the high-end side as far as a price point goes. A scoop is $4.25. It’s actually two full scoops and comes in a decent sized cup.

Let’s call it a handful. It’s more the size of a softball, not a baseball.

Why so much ($4.25) for two scoops of ice cream?

There’s a few damn good reasons.

  1. Everything in her store is Fresh and Homemade.
  2. Her frozen treats are Gluten-free, Dairy-free, and Non-GMO*
  3. Her Italian Ices are very rich and they don’t contain High Fructose Corn Syrup.

[ *Non-GMO means Non Genetically Modified Organisms ]

Here’s her logo:

SWEET JANE LOGO

A logo should just be an identifying mark. This one is definitely cute and clever. It’s also original.

For me, as a pro graphic designer for the last 20 years, I can comment on this logo for hours and barade you all with everything from numerical proportions, font selection right through the psychology of the color. At the end of the day, it is not whether or not you or I like it, it’s about what works for the clientele she is trying to attract.

This logotype is actually fine.

SWEET JANE LOGOSweet Jane’s

Well, fortunately it’s summertime and hot outside. This is the time of the season to open an ice cream store. It’s a no brainer.

She opened. She had an opening. She gave away some free ice cream. She even had a local politician come down for photos and did the ribbon cutting thing. She got a few local write ups and is on her merry way.

Great, so far.

This all helped and brought in some new people. Now she’ll develop a social media platform and start dealing with responses to Yelp reviews.

Before the business cards and the website?  Yes.

I chose to work with her for a few reasons. She’s very passionate about her ice cream—passion is everything.

It’s all homemade, the fudge pops are to die for. They are dairy-free, gluten-free, non-GMO and only 110 freakin’ calories. One word: Yumma.

Jane needed something that would be highly-effective and affordable to launch her business to the local public. We came up with an easy and quick solution and used The Process.

bink-process

Then we designed a little flyer highlighting and differentiating her from the competition. Keep in mind that her competition is not only other ice cream places, frozen yogurt outlets, ice cream trucks including; mass marketed desserts found in our grocer’s freezers but all desserts in general.

Then I asked her for two young women to give the hand outs to everyone in Astoria Park last weekend. Here’s one:

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

The Street Team:

They gave out 500 of the slightly oversized business card/flyers and we sought out “health conscious hipster” to give them to.

Our market was people who really care about what they put in their body. Price doesn’t matter to them as much as quality. In fact, if the prices were any lower, there would be a problem with incongruity in an affluent market.

Another thing to note here is:  People that love and want quality are NOT interested in Discounts and Deals. They want quality and are happy and more than willing to pay for it.

People that want Deals live and operate from a different lifestyle, display different attitudes and seek certain values. There’s nothing wrong with wanting discounts. It’s just different and is not going to be her core audience, now or in the foreseeable future.

Jane and I discussed this at length already. She gets it and is in full agreement. There is No incongrinuity and she now knows who her main audience is. They are the majority of the new hip folk moving into the area.

This little campaign took all of 5-6 hours to execute has taken Jane’s daily gross from $50-100 per day and moved it up to $350+ per day. Saturday was a heavy hitting $750 day. We hit her ROI times three (300%).

So what did I do?

I trained the girls on some light push and pull NLP techniques to softly engage people. Their leading line that they wanted to try was a smiley, “Hello…” I knew this wouldn’t work only 50% of the time. So I waited for them to hit a 50/50 mark which didn’t take too long until they felt defeated. I’d also let them figure it out for themselves. When they asked what would be better, I said: “A better leading line would be ‘I Scream….'”.

They tried it. It worked.

They immediately saw a very different response from people once they started using it. You could hear people yelling back “… You Scream, We all scream for Ice Cream!“.

Many people know the line. It’s from the movie “Down By Law” by Jim Jarmusch. Here’s the scene:

SMILES ABOUND!!! Laughter releases dopamine, endorphins and enkephalins—nature’s all-natural drug. It’s all Neurochemical.

Well, that’s all for now. Another happy client.

Soon we’ll prepare for the winter months by doing social outreach to community organizations and restaurants.

I hope you had an excellent 4th of July and are taking a vacation of monumental proportions this summer. 😀

Do you know what Emotional Contagion is?

It’s how social media uses the brains of its [ free ] users. Maybe you use social media everyday whether you realize it or not, the big data community and magnetizing media occupies a piece of your brains.

Don’t Be Surprised. We live in the age of Big Data and Advertising and Branding on Steroids and Crack.

In order to fully develop highly-effective advertising, branding, communications and design, you’d need to do research… and a lot of it.

As co-founder of BinkNyc Culture, I’ve been perusing white papers for six years. The ones I read are thorough research studies so, we can better understand the human condition and serve OUR clients more optimally. I apply these TECHNIQUES to brand and ad messaging.

Oddly, you are already interacting with UX & ID experiences every single day. It’s heavily and adeptly applied to Google, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, etc. and many folks hardly realize it. These sites are at the top of the UX & ID game.

Maybe you are one of those extreme “hold outs” and ignore or reject social media sites. There are many opportunities that you could be missing there. In today’s cultural climate, it’s all about connecting and engagement.

Brief Backlog
Social Media was not a phrase in our everyday lexicon in 2008. I remember trying to explain the power of Facebook years ago to a potential client. She looked at me like I had three heads.  Sure she’s heard about Facebook and she was like; “No one is using it for business.”

The very next day The New York Times came out with this piece:
http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/10/24/social-networking-for-patients/

Before then they call it: “Social Networking”:
https://www.google.com/search?q=2007+nytimes+social+media

She called me the next day and was amazed. Suddenly, it all made sense.

I guess if the NYTimes says it, it just has to be true.  😛

What still gets me are people calling themselves experts in Social Media. To these people I respectfully say: “Insert a straw in thy bum and then, BLOW!”

I can’t tell you how many people out there are one of these so-called “industry experts”. They are proficient salespeople selling snake oil.

Thankfully that little Facebook mania, buzz-phase passed. Many still haven’t figured out how to use it.

This goes for major corporations as well. They are running like chicken with severed heads and are still looking to the Big Data industry to save the day.

What in G•d’s name is UX?

Recently, a computer engineer called and requesting our services. He said: “I know what I don’t know and realize that I need to have what you guys do.”

This was music to my ears. He directed me to view his website.

This is what it looks like:

Redesigned by BinkNyc

“Jesus…” I thought, “This is going to be a lot of work.”

I don’t mean a lot of work in actual work time, work. I mean in all the time it will take to explain it to him—what he doesn’t know that he will need.

He initially resisted and objected to dozens of suggestions for a couple of weeks. I explained UX to him—and what could be many times better. It took over 4-5 hours in several conversations, over a full three week period.

He reluctantly but finally agreed to hire us.

After he deposited the check, he wanted to see something right away. lol… He gave me a day and a half. I couldn’t schedule my normal web designer so I did it myself.

I could almost hear the client’s inner voice screaming. The poor guy was going through a minor meltdown.

I sought to ease his pain and designed these for him within 24 hours:

AHL BinkNyc 01 AHL BinkNyc 02 AHL BinkNyc 03 AHL BinkNyc 04

He and his partner were impressed.

It is an intuitive design solution. 3 simple steps take you where you need to go. I removed all the erroneous jargon. With this design, we are pulling the viewer right in—to test drive the site.

We see so many business owners still holding onto the old school way of thinking. It goes something like this: “We should just tell people who we are and what we do and if they need the services or products, they’ll call or contact us.”

The math and science reveals that the human being doesn’t work that way. See the infographic here for some figures on the math and science:

Neurochemical Infographic, BinkNyc Brand—ID

There’s about 80 other mathematical and scientific findings and numbers we use in the Neurochemical system. It accurately derives and produces a predictable response rate.

There’s also a rigged list of 72 copywriting rules to the system.

You can read 400+ white papers (over 10,000+ pages) and figure it out for yourself or you could simply hire us.

It’s unlikely that you have the time to do all this but then again, I could be mistaken.

In Closing:
Here are some considerations that go into web design nowadays:

Network Theory: A New(ish) Theory

Social Network Theory

We use Network Theory in our General Market Analysis.

BinkNyc

The 20 point circle above is used and applied to a Brand—ID and our Communiqué Stratégie. Network Theory allows us to look at different markets segments and how to capitalize on them. Some market systems we use describe 8 personality types, They outline this in very precise detail.  Other systems we use have 9 types, a few have 16 types and others have 48 types which all need to be considered.

.

When these market systems are researched and used in conjunction with our Brand—ID, Design and Advertising techniques, Communiqué Stratégie and Network Theory, a clear surefire approach reveals itself. We will hit our target, squarely between the eyes 9 times out of 10.

The only time we, as a company, have faced any difficulty hitting only 9 times out of ten instead of ten out of ten, is because the proprietor or board of directors “wants to do it their way.” It’s their mistake but they then blame us, 😀

.

We also use ancient Esoteric Theory in our Specialized Market Analysis.

For example….

Nature follows a very particular pattern
(Fibonacci Sequence).
fibonacci Golden Mean  fibonacci plant

.

The seasons follow a very particular pattern
(Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter).
four seasons

.

Human development follows a very particular pattern as well
(Child, Teenager, Adult, Senior).
4lifespan

.

How these patterns are used to create a great, long-lasting company and brand goes through a very particular pattern. It’s not random nor creative and some pieces of the puzzle are solely based on mathematics and science. It does require discipline on behalf of the proprietor(s) to carry the Brand.

This isn’t something marketers learn in school. This isn’t something designers, branders and advertisers are taught either. You won’t read about it on your blogs, in INC magazine, WIRED or in the NYTimes. And you won’t find the keys to our system on bookshelves at Barnes and Nobles or in your checkout on Amazon.

Many haven’t a clue and wouldn’t think to look in the directions we have finding highly relevant and subconscious markable information.

It’s all Neurochemical and it is as natural as the world in which we live. Just as we all have to abide by the laws of gravity, speed and velocity, aging and entropy, the laws of the Neurochemical are very much the same.

binknyc.com

If you and your team could do it, you wouldn’t need to hire us. 🙂

BinkNyc Culture, Neurochemical

The people who have paid for the Neuroletter subscription will see, use and apply these patterns in nature and how it reflects with measurable increases in wealth with companies and brands you want to grow to a greater, more extensive audience. Using Network Theory requires users to understand and approach the HUBs in any network for faster and a more certain engagement. This is something any company that is selling people, places or thing wants access to and have in their possession.

How to properly boil frog

runner Okay…

Before all you vegetarians, vegans, and animal rights’ activists go off to the races and get all emotional, up in arms about me boiling frog for breakfast, this idea is merely to make a point and nothing more. For your information, I had eggs for breakfast today and until an egg has been fertilized by a cock (or cockerel), there is only half of the genetic material that goes into making a chicken. It was a delicious hard-boiled egg.

If you are still feeling emotional about the idea of boiled frog, I suggest you take three deep breaths and exhale slowly. This will activate your parasympathetic nervous system. A tiny but powerful neurotransmitter called; acetylcholine will flood your spinal column and relax you. 😀

*      *      *

This tid-bit of knowledge about the parasympathetic nervous system is one of the things I apply to advertising, branding and communications design. I continually refer to this system as: Neurochemical. It has been evolving for many years now.

It is an interesting blend of scientific and math principles specifically superimposed over advanced principles used in modern day Advertising, Branding, Communication and Design.  Here’s a little bit about how this came to be.

KBS+

______________

Breuk Iversen, BinkNyc, 11211, Astoria, Williamsburg, NYC, Neurochemical______________

SVA-Logo.full_

1992 – 1994 – 2000

This inquiry all started at an advertising agency in Soho in 1992 currently called KBS+. Back then it was just called just Kirshenbaum & Bond (or K&B for short). The agency was very young and already had: Family Circle, Chase Manhattan Bank, Coach, and Kenneth Cole.

K&B was nicknamed The Brat Pack in the media and for good reason. That year, with our help, we split Snapple stocks twice in a six month period with a ‘Reality TV’-based campaign. We picked and filmed Snapple fans based on actual letters they mailed in.

I also worked alongside Andy Spade who was still Kate Spade’s fiancé. It was there I may have adopted a fully realized drinking problem. 😀

A couple of years later, in 1994, I started my own design firm called: DisciplinedBeauty.com. (< this website has remained unchanged since 2006 and still works and looks great). We won a bunch of design awards and through blessings from heaven above, I landed accounts with two of the largest NYC law firms. Shortly thereafter, we had new accounts that were great financial firms composed of  portfolio managers and investment advisors and all this all happened while I was, starting a design firm, working full time and  studying at School of Visual Arts (SVA).

In 2000, after graduating and having served 150+ clients from the design firm, 11211 Magazine was started. I was getting bored working on clients accounts that wanted the same imagery, same fonts, same sizes, same colors, year after year.

Six years passed and I had never been a fan of marketing or creative directors saying things in a sheepishly, meek voice, “Well, we feel that this just isn’t right for what we are doing.” or “This isn’t the message we want to convey.”  I’ve also heard: “Well, we want to use Hunter Green instead of Reflex Blue this time,” as though this was some ‘radical’ idea and proof that they were ready to hop outside of the box.

I’ve simply recognized these responses as vanity/ego pieces and pissing contests by senior level managers/officers and entrepreneurs seeking to mark their territories with their own ‘ideas’.

Did it make the annual report, brochure or campaign work or result better or stronger? Absolutely not.

If I had my way and occasionally got to throw in some interesting graphics, great photos and cool fonts, would it have made a difference in the finances? The answers were ‘yeah, sometimes’ and ‘not really’.

I wanted to know “How To Properly Boil Frog.”

*      *      *

Fast Forward to 2006

All the components that a graphic designer needs to know: printing, concepts, clear graphic communication, images, color theory, shapes, contrast, typefaces (fonts), halos and postscripts, and their history and all the expertise one needs to know regarding the design field, I know.

I purposely obsessed about everything a great designer would need to know and continually pushed my edge and did this primarily to prove something to myself, family and friends. You could say I’m an obsessive overachiever.

As graphic designers and AdMen, we are generalists. This means we know a lot about a lot of things which also happens makes us good conversationalists at parties. We thrive among the infinitely curious and knowledge hungry.

As a designer, you are expected to know the difference between CMYK and RGB and what the hell a Hex color is, HTML code, and the differences between; picas and points, tracking vs. leading, Picasso and Pissarro, Manet and Monet.

Designing God

As a graphic designer and through a diverse range of projects over the years, I have an intimate knowledge and know the difference between a herringbone and blanket stitch (fashion), blinoplasy and otoplasty (plastic surgery), perigee and apogee (satellite orbiting), cane sugar and high-fructose corn syrup, a vegan and vegetarians, raw and live foodist, the thread differentiation between wood and metal screws, absorption and adsorption (engineering), acupuncture and acupressure (healing arts), astrology and astronomy, a quantum, molecule and atom (physics), bear and bull market rallies (financial), dessous and dessus (ballet), Freud and Jung, Brahms and Bach, Joyce and Beckett, Wright and Gehry, and about 2,000 other things which may bore the eyes out of your sockets.

For me, to know something means to “Know what something is and what it is not.” It’s a holistic approach to understanding.

Admittedly, it was actually tens of thousands of dollars in mistakes that have brought this knowledge to be. My ability to fail has been fully developed into a hardened, refined and a more accurate process has emerged.

Perhaps I succeed more
because I failed more.

The odds weigh heavily in favor
of this being a truth.

I figured that if you want to be paid like a professional, you had better perform like one. As a pro, you are expected to KNOW what you are doing but, some clients, including myself, were still mystified why some things worked better than others.

I’ve asked many experts, professionals, and even novices about something, a system or method, that would achieve predictable results—making order out of this chaos. There are 1000s of techniques out there but, knowing if a campaign will work or not has seemed to have eluded even the most profound of industry professionals.

Sometimes I would do an amazingly, successful ad or design campaign and other times I could completely strike out. It was a hit or miss. Deeper research was definitely in order and I wanted a more predictable system. Something business owners could count on. I wanted this expertise.

How can this gap between knowing and guessing be closed? How can campaigns be made more predictable, more reliable and show clients a safe and sure road to their “Return On Investment” (ROI)?

I searched high and low and couldn’t find a predictable system that existed for administering products and services like a real pro, on point, at least 70-80% of the time. I wanted a something that was a predictable system based on science and math.

This system would have to be found because one does not exist. This would required a great deal of research. So I started with the customer: who they are not as a consumer but as a sensitive, thoughtful human being.

The presupposition is that if you have a service or product that is USEFUL to someone beside yourself, it can be sold. Clients are happy if they get a 5-10% return from their efforts. For me, this return is dismal.

A Process

I was pretty well-versed in the human body and how it works from the Egyptian, Vedic, and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) perspective. These are still the most widely used forms of medicine in the world today and have survived an exhaustive trial and error period.

For instance, Emperors in China have commissioned scores of herbalist to find a combination for health, healing and immortality. If you can imagine every conceivable combination of shit, rocks, dirt, sand, fish scale, bird feather, leaf, root, animal part, human part and even tiger balls have been clashed and combined, heated, frozen, roasted, cooled, and melted looking for THE right combination for immortality.

.

They have tremendous volumes of books, written material and have kept and updated thorough records of their findings. They’ve also killed hundreds of thousands of people in this query to serve the Emperor’s quest via prisoners and handsomely paid subjects and once thought mercury was the wonder drug because of it’s metallic and liquid quality.

.

Now that’s what I call Neurochemical!

.

Care to take a guess as to how many years they conducted this survey? The answer is at the end of this entry.  It has a dark red background with blue type and is upside down.

.

.

Bink Christ

I spent from 2004-2008 looking in-depth into spirituality, mysticism and both the ancient and modern mystery schools in NYC and abroad. Two of these years was spent on the telephone every day with a powerful spiritual teacher. She spent the larger part of her life traveling the world, with a full purse, allowing her access to every major mystic on Planet Earth from China to South America to California, traveling from east to west.

She did this over a 40 year period before returning to her husband in Long Island.

I’ve seen some amazing things.

I was missing one component or the body, mind and spirit portion of the human puzzle: The Mind. I began a thorough inquiry and started taking on smaller clients to test what I’ve learned.

I originally called this study Neurochemical Testing. The inquiry has been enroute and in development since late 2005, early 2006. I wanted to know how the knowledge and integration about the mind, body and spirit could be applied to clients’ businesses with measurable results. The search was to understand how brain functions and this was the last part of the voyage.

What happens when you superimpose a healthy psychology into sociological environments developing a culture instead of just generating sales? What is perception? Can this knowledge be addressed and re-applied to my professional pursuits?

Humans’ basic needs are to have shelter against the elements, food and drink. So beginning with these primal needs seemed like a good place to start. I would work outward and up-to-date from there.

Questions worth knowing the answers to:

Why does someone smile?  Why does a baby know how to smile even though they were never taught how to do it?  Why does someone cry? Why does a baby cry without learning this first? What is hunger?  Why does our stomach grumble when we are hungry? What is depression and what is happiness?

I started with dozens of white papers and grey literature, research and reports. Perhaps I could find connectivity between the facts presented by thousands of studies and apply this knowledge to ads, brands, communication and design solution which view the company as secondary to the human needs and market they seek to address.

Since 2006, I have read and pulled critical info about the human brain, neuropeptides, biological and behavioral patterns, applied psychology and sociology conditioning. This Neurochemical is built from well over 400 of these white papers from the best universities England and the US has to offer.

You may have a burning question:
What does all of this have to do with boiling frog?

.

How does one properly boil frog?

binknyc, breuk iversen

Here’s how:

You can boil the proverbial frog by dropping them in a pot of lukewarm water. The heat must be raised at 0.002°C per second. This will take over 2.5-3 hours.

Ingredients: 1 mid-sized adult frog, 2 leaves of a water lily, one mid-sized pre-prepared ball of sturdy bread dough (sourdough is recommended), two raisins.

Directions:

1. In a 2 quart pot, fill it with fresh water, 2/3 to capacity (no salt, please)
2. Heat over medium flame until it is lukewarm.
3. Immediately place frog in, covering it with one of the lily pads.
4. Very slowly bring the water to a boil.

The frog won’t jump out and get boiled alive. Their minds will mentally adjust to the change of heat. They are amphibians with amphibian brains.

5. After an hour, cover frog fully in bread dough
(see below).

Baking Directions: Preheat oven to 350° F.

Use 2/3rd of the dough to cover frog.froggie 1

With the remaining dough, cut and shape and shown below.

Relish in it taking shape!  froggie 3

Add the raisins…

Add a smile.

Butter sheet and add an egg wash for color (optional).
Bake for 45 minutes.

Allow 10 minutes to cool and serve on the second lillipad.

What would happen if you boiled the water first and added the frog?
If you boiled the water first and then drop the frog in, they will immediately jump from the water at a calculated average force of (F(av)=0.10+/-0.04 N). [1]

A frog can jump 6-9 feet.

Some questions you may have are:

What does my business have to do with boiling frog?

It may have took your business a 1-10 years to realize you need help with publicizing it, like a frog in slowly boiling water. It’s probably okay but you know it can be doing much better.
What are you waiting for?

Perhaps you expect someone else to perform miracles with moving your products or services in a just a couple of weeks or months. Let us know how that works out. We’d love to know and see your success story.

What the hell will this cost?

This depends on where we see potential improvements and how much work is entailed.  We can start with a $5 frog and take leaps from there.

We’re not kidding. Give us $5 and we can guarantee you a Return On Investment (ROI) of $15. That’s a 300% ROI and hardly anyone else can get this for you.

Other may shiver when you mention an ROI.

We perform miracles using both a 20+ year experience, 1000s of examples and the game-changing; Neurochemical data.

So, what’s your magic number?

What’s the magic time?

Qualifying for a Proposal

It’s okay. You’re not the big winner this time.

Why?

There’s a huge difference between someone who wants to be a King or Queen, and someone who wants to be Rich.

You can’t be both.

You had chosen the crown. A king 👑  or queen 👸🏻 has to be rich first. So the correct answer if you aren’t rich yet you can’t possibly be king or queen. So, the correct answer is RICH.

If you are living in a fantasy world, thinking to be a king or queen, let me know how that is working for you. Here’s some tips for those in need of a dose of reality.

The King or Queen will often have to pay out to have people bend to their ways. People will work for someone who os paying them to work but, this still won’t guarantee any notable success in their kingdom. King and Queens call all the shots on Branding, Design, Communications, Advertising and Publicity. This is their downfall as history has taught us. An expert in the field of marketing or anti-marketing is far better suited to do publicity.

ALEXANDRA

Meet Alex

Alex (14)

She’s basically just an attractive kid.
Her career is launching before my
eyes on Facebook.
It’s interesting to watch.

She loves her friends, family, and her newfound career. She’s a bit of a ham but, not in a showy way. To some extent, she’s a bit of a goofball which just adds to her child-like charm. Only recently has she understood the effect she has on people and she’s figured out a nice way to deal with it. This is good.

I like her because she’s enthusiastic and celebrates her successes and silly, stupid things she does on Facebook. She’s not, “Too Cool for School”.

Her odds are good.
.
Oddly, no one else has stepped up to help her.
She does need a little push. I offered.
.
She’s a friend on Facebook for over 2 years now we’ve met in person.
I remember her excitement when she got her VERY FIRST gig and chose her VERY FIRST agency.
.
She needs help getting Votes.  Vote here if you want: www.guessgirl.com.
The contest ends on June 7th. We are going to launch a Social Media Blitz in the last few days when it matters most.

This year 30,000 women entered.
They’re down to the top 25.
Today she’s in 6th place.
.
Below here photos are the advice I’ve given her as of the other day.  She’s followed it and it’s working well for her, so far.  Next week we will know for sure.
.
What she doesn’t know is that I know
how to get her face in front of
190,000,000 people on Facebook
without buying a single ad.
It’s going to be a little surprise.

[ WARNING:  This is a long conversation. ]
.
Here’s the advice I gave her starting last week:
  • Conversation started Friday
  • Breuk Iversen

Hey! When is yo deadline? I’ll do a media push for you.

    Breuk

  • Alex Abercrombie

    June 7. You’re a sweetheart

  • Breuk Iversen

    No u r?
It’s my pleasure. It’ll be fun. I’m telling everyone you are my little sista.

  • Breuk Iversen

ok. Keep me in the loop. I have over 2,000 friends who are models. I need a couple of days.

Consider doing a small video (on YouTube as an appeal). You have a beautiful, warm personality that will shine through.

That will do it. Feel free to share it on my wall as well.

    Cool.

  • Alex Abercrombie

    It hats a great idea!

    That’s

  • Breuk Iversen

    (I knew) lol.
This is what I do for a living.

    B

  • Breuk Iversen

    Video:
    (Suggestion)
Simple, short, and sweet 30 secs., max.
A close up of you speaking and then as you are still speaking, maybe a slide show your favorite photos (maybe 10) w/ a voice over. Then, back 2 you saying: thank you so much, big smile, family-style.

  • Alex Abercrombie

Ok I need to get somebody to film me

  • Breuk Iversen

Yes. The do it yourself (DIY) is very powerful. Are u in NYC? I’ll see if my video guy is available:

    His work is here:
    http://BinkNyc.com/partners

    5 peeps down the page.

    B

  • Alex Abercrombie

    No I’m in LA

  • Breuk Iversen

    An iPhone Is fine.

I still remember the clip you and your mother did for your “test video”.

    Hysterical.

    Is that on YouTube?

It shows great components and everything people want people to be.

Phone is dying. The girls are here.
    Tomorrow, to be continued….

  • Saturday
  • Breuk Iversen

Ok. Congrats!!!! You are now número uno!
The thing is to keep you there.

The three images you have up are perfect. I wouldn’t change unless someone else gets ahead (‘don’t fix, if it’s not broken, idea’).

Last night I started with my Russian and Eastern Euro friends.
I will move ahead and let me know how the video is going.

I’m going to my cousin’s wedding today, So feel free to keep me in the loop.

    My cell is (718) 578-6613.
    BinkNyc@gmail.com is the e-mail.
^ Just so you have it.

  • Sunday
  • Alex Abercrombie

i’m shooting all day today so no video today.
i think the thing automatically rotates…I’ve noticed that it kinda moves in cycles so doubtful that I’ll remain in top 5

I’m not allowed to change pictures. haha
so nothing to do but wait.  and ask for votes

votes are only 25% of their decision.

  • Breuk Iversen

    Interesting. Hmmm (thinking)

I’ve seen it on other computers as well (yesterday) and you are showing up in the top 5.

What’s the other 75% that is the deciding factor?

  • Alex Abercrombie

Skype interview next week. Judging panel. I sent a link to my agency pics too

Yes in all computers but it changes like every 12 to 24hrs

    Only 1 girl hasn’t left top 5

  • Breuk Iversen

    I’ll look again now.

I can totally see you getting this. What day next week is the interview?

  • Alex Abercrombie

Don’t know yet. I just responded to their email.

  • Breuk Iversen

How do you “feel” about the interview in your gut or heart?

  • Alex Abercrombie

I’ve met so many people. It’s just a matter of if I’m what they’re looking for

They like to see if the models look like their pictures

Lots of times the models are not looking very good in real life

  • Breuk Iversen

I understand. That’s what you “think” about it (mind).

When you see yourself winning, how does it make you “feel” in your heart and gut?

    *r

  • Alex Abercrombie

I can see it but we’ll see

  • Breuk Iversen

Excited? Fearful? Just good? Amazing? Worried?

    Feels…

I’ve watched your successes and have been extremely impressed with your advancements to date. There’s something a little extra about you that makes the whole thing amazing.

  • Alex Abercrombie

I hope they see it. If not this time then something else will come.

    And thank you very much!

  • Breuk Iversen

That’s exactly the right attitude to have!

    And it’s my pleasure.

I’ll get my team ready next week. We have some time until the 7th….

    To be continued….

    ——————–

Get a really good personal trainer to help you get one of those bubble butts.

The guess girls are all about filling those jeans. Not that there’s anything wrong with your butt now. But, the butt and legs are what sells.

  • Breuk Iversen

    Their jeans (anyway).

  • Alex Abercrombie

    I have a booty

  • Monday
  • Breuk Iversen

Hello. I would like to have an album to share for later this week and the next. I would like your permission to do so.

I can use this to launch a Social Media campaign. I want to use 10-20 photos to get people to understand the FULL scope of you, your work, and your great and warm personality.

    Breuk

  • Alex Abercrombie

    Yes help yourself.

I read the rules again. Votes decide the top 5. Judges pick the winner. So votes do matter!!!!

  • Breuk Iversen

Excellent. I’ll get my staff prepared. I may just ask you for a “testimonial” when the time comes.

  • Wednesday
  • Breuk Iversen

    Howdy Alex,

We are ready to hit this pretty hard come June 1st. Doing this sooner will exhaust us and since this is a “Pro Bono” campaign, I can’t afford to put my staff or other client projects at risk. I’m sure you understand.

I’m sure this is both a difficult and exciting experience for you and I’m happy to help.

I’m going to outline some points for you to consider and having almost 19 years in the business, I would like to know that you get what we (BinkNyc) are doing and some if the time-tested this which we know with 80-90% accuracy.

Would you like to know what these are?

    B

  • Breuk Iversen

Ok. This is going to be a long one.

    1) Your last post is exactly the right way to go!

    2) just keep thanking people for everything they are going.

    3) keep on telling them that you think they are amazing.

    4) People will do things when they are ready to do them and not when we want them to. Please keep this in mind! Always!

Keep the heart icon and use it frequently!

    Smileys too.

People are engaged because they personally get a sense of accomplishments by helping others. This is the driving force behind any great campaign.

Tell them things like: “I’m so lucky to have such amazing friends and people in my life.”

“This means so much to me”.

    “You guys freaking kick ass!”

You get the idea… Have those ready when the time is right.

This motivates people. Numerous scientific studies have shown that if you have people $5-10 for each vote they still wouldn’t do it.

The human being is much more complex.

Does this make total and complete sense to you?

  • Alex Abercrombie

yes. happy to say it’s things I already do and always have done.

  • Breuk Iversen

    Perfect.

Now. When you responded on my post, people can hear the frustration in your words.

Two of my friends PMed about it.

    ————————

The other night, I PMed have about 40 friends and family and went to the wedding and opened up my laptop so people could vote.

I know at least 35-40 people did it. You were at number one later that day.

  • Breuk Iversen

I have 3 of my staff, who do this professionally, ready to go for the June, 1st.

You will win and the only thing I fear and worry about and that absolutely drives me crazy is when the client (you in this case) doesn’t trust the process and throws havoc into the picture with unsavory comments.

  • Alex Abercrombie

that’s my personality. not frustration. sense of humor. haha

  • Breuk Iversen

    Ok. It’s hard to tell.

    My friends didn’t get that!

  • Alex Abercrombie

it has more factors then you or i have control of.
I have a 30 minute interview of june 4th with the marketing team. I could do perfect but they know what they want.

  • Breuk Iversen

Can you change your profile pic?

That photo looks wicked which is good for the evening but, evil during the day.

The Mickey Mouse ones are pretty great.

  • Alex Abercrombie

I have friends that have like 30k followers that posted my stuff. I’m hoping that helps too. I think so because they are responding.

    yes, i’ll change it.

  • Breuk Iversen

    Lastly,

Your personality is why I’m here to help.

    Why?

Because I’ve been watching your progress and your most amazing quality is not your looks and but your ability to to keep it cool with the projects you’ve gotten.

I placed your link with a letter the other night on a private and public page for society that has 188k followers.

    It’s called Society’s Choice.

    B

  • Alex Abercrombie

    this picture?

  • Breuk Iversen

    Awesome!!!!

Yes! It shows you can have fun and are a like-able personality.

DrShireen is a good friend of mine and She’s had me on her team for a while.

Ok. Have a great day and we’ll speak soon enough.

    B

  • Alex Abercrombie

    ok thank you.
    xoxo

  • Breuk Iversen

    Oh….

    One more thing:

When people see and ad, a post, a photo, a video, or anything. The first thing that crosses all of our minds is this:

    “What’s in it for me”?

You and I both do the same thing and so does everyone else.

What’s in it for them is the story that they helped the next Guess Girl get there by voting for her!!!!!

They can tell this story for years to come.

You don’t need to tell them that, they already know.

( Did you find someone who can do a video for you?)

  • Breuk Iversen

    And… You are quite welcome.

  • Alex Abercrombie

I have somebody. but I’m so crazy busy right now. at a casting now. then have 2 more…then I have to get a spray tan for a job tomorrow. I will look weird in person. shooting the next 3 days for 12 hour days. so perhaps on Sunday.

  • Breuk Iversen

    Spray Tannn!!!!!

    Awesome!

The video is “Do you see the shit we models HAVE TO DO????!

    LMAO!!!!

    Yeah!!! That works!!!

  • Alex Abercrombie

it makes you look bad for first 12 hours.

  • Breuk Iversen

    Yes!!!!! that’s the FUn part….

Get me some fun footage if you can.

    This can be a blast!

  • Alex Abercrombie

i’m not good at videoing myself.

  • Breuk Iversen

    Bring a GF or BF.

This kind of thing enrolls people!!!

And if you video yourself, that’s even better.

The behind the scenes stuff people absolutely love!!!

  • Alex Abercrombie

being a model is a lot of alone time. people aren’t with you running around. they are running around too. very last minute world. but I’ll try!

  • Breuk Iversen

It shows you have a  like regular people. And we love that!

The people at Guess will dig it too.

  • Breuk Iversen

    Spray Tan! Lol… That’s awesome.

    That will totally work.

Short, funny clips, and a whole bunch of them would be great.

That one with your mother is so memorable, I still have it stick in my mind.

It makes you stand out. That and the creep photo of your sisters… Lol!!!!

  • Breuk Iversen

    Gotta go. Adios, señorita!

  • Breuk Iversen

    Hey,

    1) Can you activate the share link so people can share your photo?

    2) Also place the Guess URL as a comment to get the ball rolling with the votes.

Or place it in the description.

  • Alex Abercrombie

on the cover photo or profile?

  • Breuk Iversen

    BOTH….

After that, I’ll share it around. Cheers.

    B

  • Alex Abercrombie
